“I Love Lucy” Chocolate Factory episode
“I Love Lucy” was the most popular television show in the United States from 1951 to 1957, and “The Chocolate Factory,” as it is best known, was its second most popular episode, topped only by “Vitameatavegamin.” Stop for a minute, watch, and have a good giggle.
In the show Lucy is married to Cuban bandleader Ricky Ricardo (her real-life husband Desi Arnaz) who wants her to stay home and be a housewife. She has other ideas, so she and landlady Ethel Mertz (played by Vivian Vance) get jobs in a chocolate factory. The “Job Switching” episode was actually filmed in the original See’s Candy factory on La Cienega Boulevard in Culver City, California.
